Self Reflection

When I look in the mirror
there is nothing to see
Without you to reflect off of
I don't exist
Alone
I sit waiting
an empty shell
waiting to discover
who I am

  1. very sad and sounds as though you are lost and alone.

As a piece of work it's a work of art.

Will there be any more, Dar?

  2. Thank you Annie. I think there will be more. It's the only type of writing I can wrap my head around just now. I'm thinking I have some self discovery to do.

  4. I love short prose like that Dar! it's like a haiku. this one's a bit sad but in a mature way. I can relate to it. Dependence. Seeing yourself in someone else's eyes only. It shouldn't be like that. but at least it means our heart is still beating.

  5. Hey Leftie; thanks for dropping in! :) ... no, it shouldn't be like that, but I think I know what you mean by "...in a mature way." Thank you. It's not always easy to see the truth sometimes.

  6. A sad but touching way of expressing where I've been lately! I just couldn't put it into words.

  8. Thanks Helen.
Thank you, ... should I call you Wow? I hope my putting it into words for you has been of some help.
Hey Lane, believe it or not but acknowledging that I've not been able to see my reflection without bouncing it off of someone else has gotten me one step closer to being able to actually see it all the more clearly on my own. You can't fix something until you know it needs fixin'.

PS: sorry about the double posting of this; had to fix a typo. (grin)
