You have to experience something to know it. How could anyone know if something is right or wrong without having experienced it some how? All you possibly could know before hand is a rule that you should follow, with the faith that everyone who follows this rule knows that it is the right thing to do. ... Is it wrong not to have faith in rules you haven't yet come to understand as the right thing to do? Shouldn't something as important as deciding what is right and wrong have a bit more behind it than blind faith and ignorance?

Rules and experience being the 2 key words here...even if 'you' experience same thing I do, do we each perceive it as right and/or wrong? If it's pretty cut & dried such as harming or killing another human I think we'd agree on the 'rules' and that it's Wrong!
ReplyDeleteThen I'd address the statement ' a rule that you should follow because you along with 'everyone' have the faith in its rightness or 'righteousness'? Yes, ya' gotta' have faith and the attendant integrity and yes, it comes, most times with knowledge aka experience. And sometimes for 'some humans' it's rather inate?!
Personally I'm hesitant about why you are using the word 'rule' here...therefore, cannot discern my proper response....is this a hard absolute 'rule' by someone, or some larger entity? Can you provide any adjectives for the word 'rule'?
Yes and no to the 'blind faith' in some instances, NO! to 'blind ignorance' but it behooves you **(or I or anyone) to then diligently research and then base their decision ['right or wrong can and oftentimes is VERY subjective'as each of us is an individual therefore how can we judge them or they us as to right/wrong?]** on facts, merit, and 'cognitive talk it out effective communication' with other humans who have 'experienced', reading materials that shed light and/or cold hard evidence!
This is a fascinating, thought provoking blog yet I find I've asked more questions than provided insight. PH
